The Demand Conservation switch is a small box that connects to your central air conditioner or heat pump. The program helps us to manage energy needs during peak electricity demand days. By demanding conservation, you can:
  • Make a significant contribution to energy efficiency;

  • Increase the energy reliability in your neighborhood; and

  • Help keep energy costs low.

Get Paid with a Switch

A device is connected to your home's central air conditioning unit or heat pump. We'll credit your utility bill:
  • $5 per month (up to $20 annually) in June, July, August and September for each central air conditioning unit or heat pump on single-family homes.


  • $2 per month (up to $8 annually) in June, July, August and September for each electric water heater or swimming pool pump on single-family homes.


  • Up to $16 each year for multi-family complexes with:

    • $2 per month (up to $8 annually) in June, July, August and September for the customer

    • $2 per month (up to $8 annually) in June, July, August and September for the property owner
