Traffic Changes on Main and Third Streets Begin Sept. 28
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — As preparations continue for the new downtown arena, various lanes on West Main Street, between Second and Third streets will be closed for three weeks beginning after the morning rush hour on Friday, Sept. 28.
The three most northern lanes of Main Street, including the parking lane, will be closed for approximately two weeks. Then the two most southern lanes, including the parking lane, will be shut down for the final week.
Once the Main Street work is complete, in late Oct., Third Street between River Road and Main Street will be reduced to one southbound lane for up to six weeks.
Crews will be working 24 hours a day, seven days a week in order to complete the work as soon as possible.
Third Street will be open to North and Southbound traffic once work is completed on Main and Third streets.
