Brad Sowden

Economic Development Project Manager III

Brad Sowden joined LG&E and KU Energy as an energy service advisor in 1993, for the subsidiary of Old Dominion Power. In 1995, Sowden transferred to central Kentucky as a commercial energy advisor. In 1996, Sowden moved to the KU General Office in Lexington, to assist with the creation of the National Accounts program. In 1998, he became the lead commercial sales representative for the central Kentucky region and, in 2000, joined the Economic Development team, where he is currently a senior project manager.

Sowden is based in Lexington. His primary duties include business recruitment, customer retention, community development, and project management. Sowden has lived in central Kentucky since 1995 and has more than 30 years of experience in n sales, marketing, and customer service.

He is a 1988 graduate of the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, concentrating in marketing management. Sowden is a 2000 graduate of the University of Kentucky’s Institute for Economic Development and a 2003 graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute. Sowden also has completed continuing education courses from the University of Kentucky’s Gatton School of Business, and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business.
