Over the years, corporate citizenship and community involvement have played an integral role in the company’s tradition and culture. The Company takes the responsibility for mitigating many negative impacts on society seriously by working with government and nonprofit groups to help address a broad range of systemic social and environmental challenges.
As part of this process community relations and government affairs each work closely with local elected officials to reach above and beyond local issues; through community relations the company keeps its eyes on the horizon, knowing the issues of tomorrow as well as today.
A key component to the company’s corporate citizenship strategy has been engagement. Through customer interaction, local community board memberships, active participation within neighborhood groups, and consistent dialogue with elected officials we continue to build strong relationships throughout our service territory.
