Equipment not covered in another category will be paid $0.03 per kWh saved (first year savings only) plus $100 per kW of peak demand reduced.

Energy improvements can take many shapes and forms, so if an energy improvement is not found in another category, it may fall into the “custom” rebate category. Eligible custom improvements include but are not limited to:

• LED Lighting - UL-certified and either DLC or ENERGY STAR^®
• Compressed air systems
• Exhaust ventilation
• A/C Occupancy Sensors
• Day Lighting Controls
• Induction Lighting
• Insulation
• Energy Management Systems

Example Projects:

• Install Usage-Based Controls (UBC) on laboratory fume hood that senses occupancy to automatically adjust sash position, install energy recovery on laboratory make-up air, install a Variable Air Volume Air Supply Valves (VAV ASV), and install a Variable Speed Drive (VSD) laboratory exhaust system. Cost savings for one customer was $17,878 per year and the project was eligible for an incentive of $5,853.
• Convert the existing HVAC system serving a 30,530 square feet facility from constant air volume fan coil units to air handling units with Variable Air Volume (VAV) terminal units saved $8,523 per year and the project was eligible for an incentive of $2,557.
• Implement a comparative enthalpy economizer sequence of operation using a 3 Btu/lb differential setpoint from return air enthalpy. The four air handling units having a total cooling capacity of 1,027.9 MBH saved $3,818 per year and the project was eligible for an incentive of $1,145.
• Industrial customer replaced compressed air process with an electric motor and saved $5,520 per year and the project was eligible for an incentive of $1,656.

Business customers who’ve had an energy audit performed at their facility can earn a rebate to help offset the cost of the audit. After you’ve made qualifying, high-efficiency improvements to your facility, apply for our rebates to earn cash back on the audit and another rebate category.

• Multiple customers received incentives ranging from $290 to $3,000 back from professional energy audits that lead to completion of at least one qualifying energy efficiency measure. 

Earn rebates from $2,000 to $10,000 based on LEED certification points.

If you’re renovating a property to meet LEED v4 certification standards, you may be eligible for cash rebates from $2,000 to $10,000. Rebates are based on points awarded under the LEED Energy & Atmosphere – Optimize Energy Performance, Advanced Energy Metering, and Demand Response categories and square footage of the building, per the chart below.

Rebate amount: Ranging from $3 to $55 per bulb

Improving your business’s lighting is an easy way to save energy and earn rebates from our program. Business customers can earn anywhere from $3 to $55 per lighting fixture, depending on the type of bulb and efficiency. Improving lighting in some facilities can even help improve workforce productivity.

Lighting savings add up! Check out these incentive ranges from real customers:

• Interior lighting retrofit prescriptive incentives range from $214 to $44,921 per project.
• Exterior lighting retrofit prescriptive incentives range from $153 to $7,265 per project.
• Interior lighting control prescriptive incentives range from $44 to $5,919 per project.

Motors: Open and TEFC: $2 per HP

Success story: Customer installed Electronically Commutated Motors (ECMs) with evaporator fan controls in their walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer and received $333 in incentives. Energy cost savings were approximately $1,210 per year with a 4-year simple payback.

Pumps: 7.5 HP to 50 HP: $50 each to $300 each

Rebate amount: $16 per hp (all sizes)

Variable frequency drives (VFDs) offer commercial and industrial customers better control of energy usage. Rather than the "all-on or all-off" approach used in more traditional motors and equipment, variable frequency drives only require the amount of energy necessary to run at the time, providing a more moderated use of power.

• VFD incentives can range from $16 to $3,200 per project.
• Air Compressor with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) prescriptive incentives range from $675 to $13,500 per project.
