Nathaniel Dorwart joined the company as a co-op in 2003 and in just two years became a full-time employee. As a supervisor of Maintenance at Mill Creek Station Plant in Louisville, Nathaniel supervises engineering projects and helps maintain plant programs such as outage and pipe inspections. In addition, he participates in equipment assessment processes and mentors new co-op students.

Outside of work and school, Nathaniel has found the time to volunteer with River Sweep, Middle School Connection, and the company's own charitable giving campaign. Here's what Nathaniel said about his career.

Why did you apply here?

During co-op interviews, the power production industry seemed the most appealing and provided a solid career foundation.

Has the company assisted you with tuition or other support for your education and/or career development?

I was hired on as an Engineer in Training while I got my Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Thanks to the company and the University of Louisville, I was awarded the Presidential Scholarship, which covered my tuition. The company purchased study material and paid the fee for me to take the Fundamental of Engineering Exam. I'm currently scheduled to take the Principals of Engineering Exam, and the company will reimburse the fee for that test as well.
