Joe Pierce first joined LG&E and KU as a student engineer in 2007. After graduating from the University of Kentucky with a degree in electrical engineering, he worked at East Kentucky Power in substation and transmission operations for six years. He returned to LG&E and KU in July 2022 as a key account manager.

Pierce’s customers include the University of Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky University, University of Louisville, Metro Sewer District (MSD), and the Heaven Hill, Jim Beam and Barton distilleries. In his role as key account manager, Pierce provides services ranging from rate and billing support, energy efficiency and economic programs, to technical issues for industrial customers with sensitive equipment and power-quality needs.

Pierce and his wife have three daughters and are active members of St. Michael’s parish in Louisville.
