We’re asking our customers to “think outside the mailbox” by making the switch to paperless billing. And, as an added incentive, now through Nov. 30, we’ll donate $1 to the Arbor Day Foundation for every new paperless billing customer who signs up.
Our goal for this effort is to reach 10,000 new enrollments, which means we’ll donate up to $10,000 to the Arbor Day Foundation, whose mission is to inspire people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees.
While making the switch to paperless billing might seem like a small action, if yours is like the average American family, you throw away more than 2,000 pounds of paper each year. That's the equivalent of 17 trees per family, and, a lot of waste.
Collectively, we can make a big difference in reducing our environmental impact.
So, how does it work?
Once enrolled in paperless billing, you receive an e-mail each month when your bill is ready. The e-mail includes a billing summary and direct links to:
-- view your actual monthly statement;
-- pay your bill by eCheck; and
-- pay your bill by ATM, debit or credit card.
Simply click the appropriate link, then login to your account to safely and securely view and pay your bill. The paperless notification will be sent to the e-mail address(es) of the registered user(s) on the account.
Now’s your chance
Visit our website and make the switch today. If you haven’t registered your account online, you’ll need to do that first (all you need is a copy of your current or recent bill and a valid e-mail address to complete the registration).
Once you’re registered, click on “Billing Options” under the “My Bill” heading on the left of the screen. From there, simply check “Paperless” and click “authorize.” After that, you’re set.
Don’t forget that you’ll also have access to many other cool features and programs once you’ve registered your account online.
Make the simple and easy switch today. As the Arbor Day Foundation says, “today’s gift will reach tomorrow’s generation.” Still need more motivation? Check out this video from the folks at http://www.payitgreen.org/.
Until next time, keep using energy safely and wisely.
