Starting
at just $25, HUGs allow you to purchase a credit that is subtracted from the recipient’s next monthly
utility bill. You receive a gift certificate in return for the amount that will be credited to their
account. Then, you can choose to present it to the recipient, or, feel free to remain anonymous if you
prefer. Either way, the recipient does not have to take any action in order to make your good deed a
reality.
We’ve offered these certificates since 2003, and customers have purchased
them for a variety of people and non-profit organizations. For instance, some parents purchase a HUG to help
out a college student who is living on his or her own for the first time. Others purchase HUGs for aging
parents living on a fixed income. And many have purchased HUGs for non-profit organizations to help them
offset monthly operating costs.
