2020 census deadline extended, so make sure you get counted

July 28, 2020

If you have not yet completed the 2020 census, the deadline for doing so has been extended. Because of COVID-19, you now have through October 31, 2020, to respond either online (2020census.gov), by phone (844-330-2020) or by mail.

The census, which is conducted every 10 years as required by the Constitution, is key to ensuring federal funding for vital services such as schools, hospitals, transportation, etc., is accurately and fairly distributed across the country. It also determines redistricting of state legislative and congressional districts so that fair and equal representation is maintained.

Responding to the census is quick and easy, and its importance cannot be overstated. Please be sure you and your family are counted.
