A salute to the men and women who keep the natural gas flowing

January 28, 2021

March 18 is Natural Gas Utility Workers Day in the U.S. At LG&E our roughly 300 natural gas employees work diligently to make sure our more than 320,000 natural gas customers have a safe and reliable supply of that energy source. Over the past few years, we have demonstrated that commitment in a number of ways.

  • Invested millions of dollars to replace hundreds of miles of aging iron and steel pipelines with more durable plastic.
  • Replaced aging transmission lines.
  • Improved gas service reliability by reinforcing our system.

Every April through October, we survey natural gas lines all the way up to your gas meter to check for leaks or damage. If any repairs are needed, we’ll work with you to get them done. We will visit your home or business every three years to perform this inspection. Go to lge-ku.com/gassurvey to find out if your line is scheduled for inspection this year.
