Thanks in part to our Opportunity Kentucky grant program, Kentucky is welcoming a new company that is not only bringing 150 good-paying jobs to Hardin County but also supports the state’s Agritech initiative (agritech.ky.gov). Kruger Packaging is investing $114 million in a plant that will produce corrugated boxes for the food and beverage sector. This is the Canada-based company’s first U.S. production facility.

LG&E and KU partnered with the Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation to provide Kruger a $50,000 Opportunity Kentucky grant to help with site improvements necessary to close the deal. Our Opportunity Kentucky grant program was developed in the last few years as a way to help Kentucky communities attract new businesses and quality jobs for their residents.
