One of our employees? Here’s how to make sure

Taking care of your gas and electric services sometimes requires our employees or contractors to visit your home, whether it’s to check a meter or carry out a necessary service. But how can you be sure we are who we say we are?

If someone claiming to be from our company comes to your home, with or without an appointment, first ask for an identification card. An authentic card will feature the employee’s name and photograph, plus a company logo. You can then ask for a second form of identification. Another tip is to check the vehicle they’re driving for a company logo. Still have a concern? Make note of the person’s name, ask the person to wait outside and call us. We can help determine if the person is an official representative of our company.

Also remember, our employees who visit your home will never ask for credit or debit card numbers or other personal information.
