Peter Waldrab

Vice President-Safety and Technical Training, PPL

Peter Waldrab was named to his current position in March 2026. Prior to this role, he served as vice president-Electric Distribution for LG&E and KU, after working for PPL in leadership roles supporting development and implementation of PPL EU's distribution smart grid system, an historic reinvestment in PPL EU's transmission system, and in the digital transformation of field work.

In his current role, he is responsible for advancing a comprehensive safety improvement plan focused on strengthening safety culture, improving work procedures for high-energy tasks, modernizing tools and technology, and ensuring our workforce – including employees and contractors – has the training, experience and support needed to work safely.

Waldrab serves on the Southeast Electric Exchange board of directors, the Edison Electric Institute National Response Executive Committee, the Electric Power Research Institute’s Distribution Sector Advisory Council and the Greater Louisville American Red Cross board.

Waldrab is a graduate of Penn State University and Drexel University, is a licensed engineer in the state of Pennsylvania and is a husband and father of three.
