Shannon Montgomery

Shannon Montgomery was named to her position in March 2024 and has more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry. In her current role, Montgomery has a wide range of customer relationship responsibilities, including metering, customer call center operations, marketing, billing, revenue collection, customer renewable energy offerings, and energy efficiency operations.

Before being named to her current position, Montgomery served as director, AMI deployment, overseeing the deployment of advanced meters across the LG&E and KU service territories as well as the organizational development of the Meter Operations Center and AMI Engineering. Before joining the AMI project, Montgomery served as director of Revenue Integrity. She joined the company in 2003 as a manager in Energy Marketing and has held leadership positions within IT Development & Support, Electric Distribution and Gas Operations, and Customer Services.

Prior to joining LG&E and KU, Montgomery worked for Exxon as an IT engineer and manager within refining, marketing and energy trading. She also worked as an energy consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in energy trading and risk management.

Montgomery holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Louisville J.B. Speed School of Engineering and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Indiana University. She will complete her doctorate in leadership from Spalding University in June 2024.

Committed to serving her community, Montgomery currently serves on the board of Leadership Kentucky.
