Susan Emery joined the Economic Development team in February 2023. She is responsible for business attraction and retention efforts, project management, site selection, product/site development, incentives negotiations, marketing and communications, business, and community/government relations.

Emery worked in public accounting for three years prior to LG&E and KU January 2001. She held various analyst, leadership, and management roles in accounting, strategic planning, budgeting, and financial planning prior to joining the Economic Development team.

Emery earned a bachelor’s degree from Xavier University and an MBA from the University of Louisville. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Kentucky.
Emery participated in Leadership Louisville’s Ignite Louisville program during 2006-2007. She served as a volunteer for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kentuckiana in 2016-2017, and as Treasurer for the LG&E and KU Political Awareness and Civic Education Committee during from 2017 to 2021. Emery is a member of the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
