Keeping your meter visible

When you receive your bill each month, you want to be confident it’s accurate. We work very hard to make sure that’s the case, but we can use your help. Making sure your meter is easily accessible for our technicians to read each month goes a long way toward ensuring the accuracy of your bill. There should be no vegetation or other blockage at least six feet in front of your meter and within two feet on either side. Also, if your meter is behind a locked gate or you have a pet in the area, please make sure our technician can get to your meter when it is due to be read. (See the date range for your next meter reading on the top-right portion of your bill.)

Meters must be accessible between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but we prefer 24/7 access in case there are other off-hour times when we need access to, for example, make repairs, respond to an emergency or correct a safety hazard.
