Coming soon to a calendar near you … National 811 Day. August 11 (8/11) is the day set aside as a reminder of the importance of contacting 811 before digging. So whatever project you have planned, if it involves putting a shovel in the ground, the law requires you to contact 8-1-1 to submit a locate request. Once your request is submitted, local utilities, including us, will ensure any underground cables and pipelines are marked.

Contacting 811, which is a free service, can save you a possible serious injury or a major repair bill if you were to damage a line when digging.
