YOU MUST BE A LEGAL KENTUCKY OR VIRGINIA RESIDENT AND HAVE AN ACTIVE RESIDENTIAL OR SMALL/MEDIUM COMMERICAL UTILITY ACCOUNT WITH LG&E, KU, OR ODP TO ENTER OR WIN.
Agreement to Official Rules. Participation in the “Paperless Billing Sweepstakes” (the “Sweepstakes”) constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsors (as defined below), which are final and binding in all aspects of this Sweepstakes. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
Odds. The odds of winning a prize will depend on the number of eligible entries received. Limit of one (1) prize per Eligible Account (as defined below) for the final drawing in November 2022.
Who Can Enter. The Sweepstakes is open only to eligible entrants who are, at the time of entry and through the applicable Cut-Off Date(s) (as defined below): (1) individuals that are legal residents of the State of Kentucky or Virginia eighteen (18) years of age or older, have an active residential or small/medium commercial Kentucky or Virginia gas and/or electric service account with LG&E or KU/ODP (an “Eligible Account”), and have agreed to, and complied with, the Paperless Billing Program (as defined below); or (2) business entities that have full power and legal authority to do business in the State of Kentucky or Virginia, have an active small/medium commercial Kentucky or Virginia account with LG&E or KU/ODP, and have agreed to, and complied with, the Paperless Billing Program. Entries for eligible business entities must be submitted by an authorized representative of such business entity (owner, officer, or other authorized employee) who is eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. The Sweepstakes is sponsored by Louisville Gas and Electric Company ("LG&E") and Kentucky Utilities Company, including d/b/a Old Dominion Power ("KU" or "ODP"). The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void outside the States of Kentucky and Virginia and where otherwise prohibited.
Sponsors: This Sweepstakes is sponsored by LG&E, KU/ODP and their affiliate, LG&E and KU Services Company, which are collectively termed "Sponsor" and/or "Sponsors" herein.
Sweepstakes Period. The Sweepstakes begins at 12:01 AM on September 16, 2022 and ends at 11:59 PM on November 16, 2022. The Sponsors’ computer system shall be the official timekeeper. The period in which the Sweepstakes are open to entrants are referred to as the “Sweepstakes Period”.
How To Enter. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter the Sweepstakes, you must do the following during the Entry Period:
(1) visit www.lge-ku.com or log into the LG&E, KU, and ODP mobile app on personal device
(2) follow the instructions to log into or register for “My Account” and
(3) (a) if you have not registered for the Paperless Billing Program prior to the Entry Period, then follow the instructions to either register for (i) the Paperless Billing program, which is a free electronic billing program (subject to, and together with, such program’s terms and conditions (available here: Residential paperless billing | LG&E and KU (lge-ku.com) for residential or Business paperless billing | LG&E and KU (lge-ku.com) for business), the “Paperless Billing Program”), (b) if you have already registered for the Paperless Billing Program prior to the Entry Period, then follow the instructions to either (i) confirm your registration for the Paperless Billing Program and each participant will be automatically entered in the Sweepstakes.
There is no charge to register or log into My Account. In the event of a dispute regarding who is entitled to the prize, entries will be deemed submitted by the “customer of record” on the Eligible Account. “Customer of record” is defined as the individual(s) or business entity that the Sponsor’s records show opened the Eligible Account. If there is more than one winning customer of record, any prizes won will be split evenly between such customers of record.
Random Draw. Three (3) names for each (i) LG&E electric and/or gas and (ii) KU/ODP electric customer pools separately, will be selected in a random draw from among all eligible entries in such customer pools. Draws will be conducted one week after the close of the Sweepstakes Period. To be declared a winner, the selected entrant(s) must first sign an acceptance/release, to be administered by e-mail or mail, and his/her entry must be verified by the Sponsor. The Sponsor reserves the right to require proof of age and jurisdiction of residence prior to awarding any prize. If a minor is selected, the parent or legal guardian of the selected entrant must sign an acceptance/release, in order for their child to be declared the winner. The prize will be issued in the parent or legal guardian’s name. Customers of record may win only one (1) time among all the three (3) customer pools respective drawings combined, with eligibility of winning multiple or successive sweepstakes removed. Sponsor reserves the right to apply reasonable reviews and methods, in its discretion, to determinate ineligible draws of repeat or duplicate winners, and its decision shall be final. In the event of a repeat or duplicate draw of an existing winner, Sponsor shall redraw for the relevant prize to determine the ultimate winner of such prize.
Prizes. Each of the three (3) winners of the respective LG&E electric and/or gas and KU/ODP electric customer pools, will receive one (1) prize in the form of Visa prepaid card. Prizes are to be awarded to the first three non-repeat or duplicate (3) LG&E electric and/or gas and KU/ODP electric eligible entries, respectively, selected in a random draw from among all eligible entries. The approximate retail value of the prizes are: $500, $400, or $300, respectively.
Prizes will be awarded “as is” with no warranty, guarantee or representations, either express or implied by Sponsors. All prize details are at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. The winner is fully responsible for any and all applicable federal, state, and local taxes. If the winner does not have a SSN or FEIN, as applicable, and therefore cannot provide one on the acceptance/release and submit a completed W-9, the Sponsor will withhold federal income tax according to the withholding requirements of the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) and submit that withheld amount to the IRS on the winner’s behalf; the winner will receive an award that is net of the federal income tax withheld. Prizes are non-transferable and non-assignable and will be provided only to the customer(s) of record, with no substitutions except at the Sponsors' sole discretion. There will be no substitutions for any prize except by the Sponsor who reserves the right to substitute a prize with one of comparable or greater value at their sole discretion. Other restrictions may apply.
Winner Notification. Selected entrant(s) will be notified by email, mail, or phone within 48 hours of the draw, and may also be announced by Sponsor on its website using the entrant’s username (if applicable, or first name and last initial), age, hometown and picture (if provided by the entrant). Selected entrants will be required to acknowledge by phone, via email or in writing his or her receipt of notification of eligibility for prize and sign an acceptance/release and return it to the Sponsor within ten (10) business days of the date on which it is sent to selected entrant for signing. If no response is received by the Sponsor within ten (10) business days of notification, the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner in a random draw selected by computer from the remaining eligible entries.
All potential winners will be required to execute and return an acceptance, eligibility, liability release and, where lawful, a publicity release form (“acceptance/release”) within ten (10) business days of date of issuance, and all other documents required by that acceptance/release. If entrant declines in writing to accept a prize, such documents are not returned by the customer(s) of record within the specified time period, prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the Sponsor is unable to contact a potential winner within a reasonable time period, or a potential winner is not otherwise in compliance with these Official Rules (including having an active Eligible Account and being an active Paperless Billing Program participant), the prize will be forfeited and, at the Sponsor’s sole discretion and time permitting, it may select an alternate winner from all remaining eligible entries. Prizes will be fulfilled approximately twenty (20) business days after the conclusion of the drawing.
Conditions/Use Rights. By accepting any prize, each participant consents to the use of their names and all accompanying personally identifiable information entrant submits, via all forms of media now known or hereafter devised worldwide, in perpetuity, without notice, attribution or compensation (other than the specific prizes described herein) to entrant, their successors or assigns, or any other entity, except where prohibited by law.
Privacy. By participating in this Sweepstakes, entrants who are selected consent to the use by Sponsor of their name, hometown, utility provider and service type, age, and photograph for any lawful purpose, without further permission or compensation, except where prohibited by law. The participants and winners agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules, including but not limited to, the Paperless Billing Program Terms and Conditions.
Any personally identifiable information collected during an individual’s participation in the Sweepstakes will be collected and used by the Sponsors, their affiliates and their agents for the purposes of the proper administration and fulfillment of the Sweepstakes as described in these Official Rules and will not be shared with any third party except as required or advisable by law or regulation, or to conform with legal process or to protect or defend the legal rights of the Sponsor and its affiliated entities or as otherwise set forth in the Privacy Policy.
Release and Limitations on Liability. The Sponsor and affiliated entities and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (ii) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions; (iii) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor that may cause this Sweepstakes to be disrupted or corrupted; (iv) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of the prize, or acceptance, possession, or use of the prize, or from participation in this Sweepstakes; or (v) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with this Sweepstakes. The Sponsor reserves the right, in their discretion, to suspend or cancel this Sweepstakes at any time if a computer virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, or other technical problem of any sort corrupts the administration, security, or proper play of this Sweepstakes. The Sponsor also reserve the right to disqualify, in their sole discretion, any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the Web site, or who is otherwise in violation of these Official Rules. Any attempt to damage the Sponsor’s Sweepstakes site or undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to prosecute violators to the fullest extent allowable by law.
By participating in this Sweepstakes, each participant agrees to release and hold the Sponsor and affiliated entities and each their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with this Sweepstakes or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
General. The Sponsor is not responsible for any costs associated with claiming any prize. Winners are solely responsible for the reporting and payment of any and all taxes, if any, that may result in claiming a prize in this Sweepstakes.
Entries in any way tampered with, forged, mutilated, incomplete, illegible, photocopied or mechanically reproduced, or submitted by or through fraudulent means, may be disqualified, in the sole discretion of the Sponsor. This includes any entry that does not comply with these Sweepstakes Rules in any respect.
Decisions of the Sponsor are final on all matters of fact, interpretation, eligibility, procedure and fulfillment in respect to this Sweepstakes. The Sponsor reserves the right at any time to withdraw this Sweepstakes or to modify, amend, or supplement these rules, in its sole discretion, subject to applicable law.
Except where prohibited, participants (or, if a minor, the parent or legal guardian) agree that (1) any and all disputes, claims or causes of action arising out or connected with the Sweepstakes or any prizes awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by arbitration or alternate dispute resolution to take place in the County of Jefferson, State of Kentucky; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out of pocket costs incurred in participation but in no event attorney’s fees; and (3) under no circumstances will a participant be entitled to obtain awards for and participants hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket costs, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. Except where prohibited, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Kentucky, without regard for conflict of laws doctrine. Should any term or provision of this paragraph or any other rule herein be concluded to be void, unenforceable or contrary to applicable law as provided herein, such term or provision shall, but only to the extent necessary to bring the rule within the requirements of such law, be deemed to be severed from the other terms and conditions; and the remainder of these Official Rules shall be given effect as if it had not included the severed item.
This Sweepstakes is subject to all Federal, State and local laws. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

With respect to customers of record who are individuals, the Sponsor will only provide the first name, first initial of last name, and the city/state of those customers of record who win, unless otherwise required by law. For customers of record that are business entities, the Sponsor will only provide an abbreviated form of the business entity’s legal name and the city/state of those customers of record who win, unless otherwise required by law.
Trademarks, Etc.: Entrants shall not use the trademarks of Sponsors or falsely associate themselves with Sponsors during or after the Entry Period.
