A better Kentucky starts by bettering businesses.

When part of Kentucky grows, we all grow. Expanding businesses lead to an expanded workforce. New businesses mean new jobs. Communities become more communal. Neighborhoods have more neighbors.

So, who’s helping fuel the engine that makes Kentucky’s economy go? Lots of companies you think of, but one you may not: LG&E and KU.

A paint company with retail customers in North and South America and Europe operates a manufacturing facility in Kentucky, producing paints, coatings, floor coverings and related products. LG&E and KU provides them with competitive energy rates to keep their operations running smoothly. A dedicated LG&E and KU Key Account Manager reviews bills with them to maximize their energy efficiency and their energy consumption practices to help reduce their bills and keep their Kentucky-based facility an affordable operation.

This delectable delight is a result of a business attraction project that LG&E and KU helped bring to Kentucky. One of our Key Account managers helped refine this snack company’s energy usage to save energy, (while not impacting their operations), and provides regular billing reviews and forecasting assistance for budgeting purposes. This is one of many services LG&E and KU provides in bringing – and retaining – businesses in Kentucky.

Since 1905, a Louisville-based business has manufactured and distributed cement, helping build schools, hospitals, roadways, bridges, commercial and industrial facilities, as well as residential housing. LG&E and KU is proud to serve this long-time business, from advising on energy-efficient equipment to improve their operations, to providing fly ash byproducts from our neighboring Mill Creek Station to help maintain a stronger cement mix at a lower cost. We “mix it up” when it comes to the many ways we serve our customers.

To improve operations at a peanut butter manufacturing facility, LG&E and KU installed a larger gas service line, allowing for the replacement a peanut-roasting oven with a newer, more powerful oven. The customer increased their operation capacity, so more tasty goodness could be spread to consumers and help their bottom line.
