LOUISVILLE, Ky. — To assist with the massive earthquake relief effort taking place in Haiti, E.ON U.S. today announced a donation of $50,000 to a special relief fund that has been established through the company's credit union.
The monies will be distributed among the American Red Cross, Salvation Army USA and the National United Way — organizations that are currently involved in providing direct relief to the people of Haiti. This includes the provision of water, food and medical supplies. Employees are also sending voluntary contributions to the fund.
"The suffering in Haiti is heartbreaking," said Laura Douglas Vice President of Corporate Responsibility for E.ON U.S., parent of Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company. "We hope our donation will offer much-needed help during these challenging times."
