2017 Prospective Product Content Label
Residential and Small Commercial Customers

The product is sold in blocks of $5 per month, with a guaranteed minimum purchase of 300 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of Green Energy per month per block. The annual average for residential and small commercial customers for the year 2016 was 2,250 kWh per month per block.

The product will be made up of 100% renewable resources,
sourced from facilities operating in Kentucky and/or contiguous states. 1,2,3

Actual figures may vary according to resource availability. We will annually report to you before August 1 of next year in the form of a Historical Product Content Label the actual resource mix of the RECs you purchased.

2 New Renewables come from generation facilities that first began commercial operation in the last 15 years.

Eligible hydroelectric facilities are defined in the Green-e Energy National Standard (www.green-e.org/getcert_re_stan.shtml) and include facilities certified by the Low Impact Hydropower Institute (LIHI) (www.lowimpacthydro.org) or EcoLogo (www.ecologo.org); and facilities comprised of a turbine in a pipeline or a turbine in an irrigation canal.

For comparison, the average (2013) mix of resources supplying Kentucky included: Coal (93%), Hydroelectric (4%), Petroleum (2%), Natural Gas (1%), Other Fossil Fuels (<1%), and Other Renewables (<1%). This resource mix was prepared in accordance with the U.S. EIA.
