John Bevington joined LG&E and KU in October 2018. In his role, he directs all aspects of LG&E and KU’s business and economic development strategies and implementation, including the development and delivery of demand side management and energy efficiency programs, and customer offerings in emerging technologies. In 2024, Bevington’s role expanded to direct economic development for PPL’s service territories in Kentucky, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

Before joining the company, Bevington was with the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development for nine years and held a number of roles with increasing responsibility and finished his tenure there as Commissioner of the Department of Business Development. 

Bevington earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and finance from Western Kentucky University. 

He serves or has served on the board of the Frankfort YMCA, the YMCA of Central Kentucky, the Kentucky Association for Economic Development, United Way of the Bluegrass, and the KET Louisville Regional Fund Board.
