It’s important to us to keep you informed when your power goes out

April 16, 2019

When your power goes out, you immediately want to know what caused the outage and how long before your power is restored. And to that point, we have some good news to share: We have just updated our online outage map to improve its accessibility and add more information about power outage locations, the cause (when known) and estimated time of restoration (ETR). Visit lge-ku.com/outages to check out these improvements.

• A more mobile-friendly format adjusts in size and layout to all mobile devices.

• Google Maps is now the base layer for the map, delivering a customer-friendly look and feel that users   are more comfortable with.

• New outage location icons are color-coded and include varying shapes, thus improving usability for those who are visually impaired or colorblind.

• ETR messages have been expanded to include not only the estimated date and time of restoration, but also a brief comment providing context of the ETR – sharing additional information during the steps of the restoration process.

• The options available to report an outage or get status information are prominently displayed.

The outage map is updated in near real time, showing information in your area and throughout our entire service territory.

We recognize that you want as much information as possible so you can plan accordingly during an outage situation. We hope you find this improved outage map provides the detailed information you need whenever and wherever you need it.
