We’re always working and investing to improve reliability

We continue to increase our investment in technology and programs so we can reduce the number of power outages (as well as the number of customers impacted) and shorten the duration of the outages that do occur. 

Improved system technology helps us discover outages sooner and better pinpoint the location. That, in turn, means we can respond more quickly and reroute power around the affected area. 

As part of the overall effort to improve power reliability, we are replacing older transmission equipment, such as wooden poles. (More durable steel poles are taking their place.) We are also installing new circuit breakers throughout our service area. 

As a result of these efforts, we have already seen the number of outages reduced by more than 30% in the last few years.
