Planting roots today for a better tomorrow

Helping to create a better tomorrow through positive actions today is a driving force behind our Plant for the Planet Matching Grant Program. Modeled after the United Nations’ Billion Tree Campaign, Plant for the Planet allows nonprofit organizations and local governments to apply for funding toward tree-planting initiatives in their communities.

Applications will be taken Oct. 1–31, 2024 through our online grant portal. To be eligible for the program, the applying organizations must: 

1. Be located within the LG&E, KU or ODP service territory
2. Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or a local government program
3. Have a demonstrated history of successful tree-planting efforts

Please note that neighborhood associations and religious organizations are not eligible for this grant.

Organizations that do meet the above criteria are encouraged to apply for evaluation. Matching grants range from $500 to $5,000. Winning applications will be notified in December.
