What do you do at LG&E and KU, and how does your work help customers?
As an Administrative Assistant at Mill Creek generating station, my work helps customers by acting as the primary point of contact, ensuring a positive first impression and providing prompt, accurate support.
What does the community you serve mean to you?
Supporting my community creates a sense of belonging, a place where everyone has a seat at the table, and I’m encouraged to bring my best self. Contributing my time to improve the local area, supporting others, and strengthening connections helps me serve the greater good. I think it’s that shared unity and the Power of One (our company’s annual charitable giving campaign) spirit that connects us all.
What’s a moment or part of your job that makes you most proud?
Being the go-to person by building strong relationships with customers, clients, staff, and by having people rely on my expertise. Knowing my work is celebrated, particularly when a colleague or higher management gives feedback on how my work improved their day or enabled them to do their job.
How do you stay involved in your community?
Having an attitude of compassion that goes beyond just giving money. It involves freely sharing my time, talents, attention, and resources with others without anything in return. This comes from having a giving spirit, donating supplies at local food banks, sometimes simply spreading awareness for local causes that matter to me.
What’s something people might not realize about the work you do?
People often do not realize that being an administrative assistant is more about acting as the operational backbone of an organization. I serve as a critical connective tissue that keeps a team from fracturing, navigating complex situations and quietly solving emergencies before anyone else even realizes there is a problem. Anticipating needs before they arise is my go-to strategy!
What are you most excited about when you think about the future and your work at LG&E and KU?
I am most excited about supporting the growth of LG&E and KU as we drive a highly sustainable, resilient energy future. It is an incredibly dynamic time to be shaping the future of power in our city and surrounding areas.
