What do you do at LG&E and KU, and how does your work help customers?
In my new role as a Gas Field Coordinator, I’m working closely with multiple gas-related teams. I have the opportunity to create guides, support training, and help teams better serve our customers and communities.
What does the community you serve mean to you?
I have a firm belief that you should always treat others the way you wish to be treated. This is why the communities that I serve as a Gas Trouble Technician and now as a Gas Field Coordinator mean a great deal to me being that I live in one of the communities that we serve. It is my duty to ensure public safety for everyone in the communities!
What’s a moment or part of your job that makes you most proud?
One of the things I’m most proud of in my job is being a part of the company’s Power Of One campaign that helps raise money for local charities and nonprofits. Seeing the impact of what we can do as a collective group for those in need in our communities is an unmatched feeling.
How do you stay involved in your community?
I stay involved in my community by supporting employee contributions to charities like the WHAS Crusade for Children, which helps children in need. I also volunteer throughout the year with colleagues, working events that raise funds for local charities and nonprofits.
What’s something people might not realize about the work you do?
Something people may not realize about my job as a Gas trouble Technician, is that we work 24/7 365 days a year to make sure we can respond to gas emergency calls whenever and wherever they may be. Just like an emergency first responder, we are usually the first on the scene for gas-related emergencies. This group covers all 336,000 natural gas customers and all our gas pipelines.
What are you most excited about when you think about the future and your work at LG&E and KU?
The meaningful impact we make in our communities through charitable giving, volunteer efforts, and providing safe, reliable energy.
