In the Technical Training group for substations, our role is to ensure our workforce is highly skilled, safety-focused, and ready to respond to the demands of the system. By training employees to maintain equipment and handle system disturbances effectively, we help strengthen overall system reliability—delivering a more consistent and dependable experience for our customers.
What does the community you serve mean to you?
To me, serving this community means being a trusted and dependable partner. It means delivering safe, reliable, and affordable energy while continuously working to improve the quality of life for those who call this region home.
What’s a moment or part of your job that makes you most proud?
I love seeing the ‘light bulb’ turn on for our technicians learn something new. It is very satisfying knowing that what we do makes a difference in the careers of our employees and ultimately in the service we provide for our customers.
How are you involved in your community?
I regularly engage in community service initiatives alongside local partners, with a strong personal commitment to supporting the special needs community. This work is especially meaningful to me and reinforces the importance of inclusion and connection in the communities we serve.
What’s something people might not realize about the work you do?
There is a substantial amount of work behind the scenes when it comes to developing training for our employees. A single 2- or 3-day course can take months of planning and preparation to ensure our technicians are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to complete the work correctly and safely.
What excites you when you think about the future and your work at LG&E and KU?
When I transitioned from the field to the technical training side of the business the biggest motivation was having the opportunity to leave behind a legacy that will continue to thrive well beyond my time here at the company. I look forward to what the future holds and what others will do to expand on what we have accomplished to the present day.
