From AC to heat: Is your system ready for the change?

Whether we want it to or not, it’s coming...colder weather. So, the question is, is your heating system prepared to help you fend off the chill? Getting it in tip-top shape now can help avoid problems down the road.

Be filter friendly – The easiest thing to do is to make sure your furnace filter is ready for the job. Change it or clean it according to manufacturer’s instructions. A clean filter helps reduce the workload of your unit, saving energy and money.

Don’t block the flow – Make sure radiators, registers and baseboard heaters are clean and are not obstructed by other objects, such as furniture.

Call the pros – Now is a good time to have a trained professional give your system a thorough tune-up. You’ll have peace of mind knowing all the working parts are up to snuff and ready for Old Man Winter’s upcoming visit.

If you’re considering upgrading to a new heating system, we recommend getting an ENERGY STAR® certified model. The significant energy-efficiency savings over time will more than offset any higher upfront cost.
