Our falcon cam takes flight once again

Spring isn’t the only new season we’re celebrating. That’s right…it’s peregrine falcon nesting season once again. And that means the return of our Mill Creek Generating Station live falcon cam!

For over 20 years, we’ve proudly partnered with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources to help protect and preserve the state’s peregrine falcon population. These efforts include establishing nesting boxes – each maintained by employee volunteers – at several of our generating stations. These boxes allow the falcons a safe environment by providing a perfect nesting location.

Our Mill Creek falcon cam steadies its view on one such nesting box, capturing the full nesting season journey, from eggs being laid to new chicks hatching and finally leaving the nest. Those familiar with the falcon cam may also recognize Diana, Mill Creek’s resident female peregrine falcon and her longtime mate, Perry the Peregrine. To date, we’ve helped nearly 200 peregrine falcon chicks fledge (leave the nest) from nesting boxes at our generating stations. This includes eight peregrine falcons that successfully fledged from the Mill Creek, Ghent and Trimble County generating stations in 2024.

Catch all the high-flying action this spring.
