Outdoor projects and electrical safety go hand in hand

Nearly every outdoor project you undertake around your home, whether large or small, has at least one common requirement – the need to be safe around electricity. From overhead power lines to underground wiring to using the right extension cord to properly carrying a ladder, knowing what to do and what not to do will help your project go more smoothly and much more safely.

A couple of examples:

  • If you plan to put in a swimming pool, either in-ground or above-ground, we recommend that you do not place it under (or within the easement for) power lines.

  • Planting a tree? Make sure it won’t interfere with power lines when it’s fully grown. (See “Don’t let the wrong tree leave you out on a limb”.)

Summer outdoor projects can be fun and exciting. Just remember to keep electrical safety top of mind. Visit lge-ku.com/safety/home to learn more.
