Did you know? Constructing Mill Creek 5

Last fall, we started construction on a new generating unit at Mill Creek Generating Station to eventually replace aging, less efficient ones. Mill Creek 5, a 640-megawatt natural gas combined-cycle generating unit, is expected to begin powering customers’ homes and businesses in 2027.

It will be the utilities’ most efficient and advanced generating unit, producing electricity through both a gas turbine and a steam turbine, which utilizes steam generated from the exhaust heat in the gas combustion process.

This is just another part of the utilities’ multifaceted investment plans for continuing to serve customers safely, reliably and affordably.
