To a greener earth: Apply for a tree planting grant

Modeled after the United Nations’ Billion Tree Campaign, our Plant for the Planet Matching Grant Program encourages nonprofit and local government organizations with records of successful tree planting to continue these community-enriching efforts. In fact, our company designates up to $75,000 each year toward this valuable initiative.

Organizations wishing to apply for this program must first meet the following eligibility requirements:

1. Be located within the LG&E, KU or ODP service territory.
2. Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or a local government program.
3. Have a demonstrated history of successful tree-planting efforts.

Neighborhood associations and religious organizations are not eligible for this grant.

Eligible organizations may submit applications for evaluation October 1–31 via our online grant portal at lge-ku.com/environment. Once there, click Plants and Wildlife and then Tree Planting Grants.

Winning organizations will be notified in December, with winners receiving matching grants ranging from $500 to $5,000.
